Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the UltraTrain mobile application ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

UltraTrain is a training companion app for trail and ultra runners. It provides personalized training plans, nutrition guidance, GPS run tracking, progress monitoring, and race finish time estimates. The app is provided as-is for informational and training purposes.

2. Account

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the app or its infrastructure.

4. Health & Safety Disclaimer

UltraTrain is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

• Training plans, nutrition recommendations, and finish time estimates are generated algorithmically and are general guidance only.
• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or modifying any training program, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions.
• Heart rate, fitness metrics, and training load calculations are approximations and should not be used for medical diagnosis.
• Listen to your body. If you feel pain, dizziness, or unusual fatigue, stop exercising and seek medical attention.
• Nutrition recommendations are general guidelines. Individual needs vary based on factors including medical conditions, allergies, and medications. Consult a nutritionist for personalized advice.

5. GPS & Safety

• GPS tracking accuracy depends on device hardware, satellite visibility, and environmental conditions. Do not rely solely on the app for navigation in remote areas.
• Always carry appropriate safety equipment, maps, and communication devices when running in backcountry or mountainous terrain.
• The emergency SOS feature is a convenience tool and should not replace proper emergency preparedness.

6. Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, code, algorithms, and content, is the intellectual property of UltraTrain. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any data you enter into the app (training data, race information, notes). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely for the purpose of providing the app's features to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The app may integrate with third-party services (Strava, Apple HealthKit, iCloud). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or practices.

9. Service Availability

• We strive to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
• We may update, modify, or discontinue features with or without notice.
• Core functionality (local training plans, GPS tracking, local data storage) works offline and does not depend on server availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UltraTrain and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to:

• Injuries sustained during training or racing.
• Inaccurate training recommendations, finish time predictions, or nutrition guidance.
• Loss of data or interruption of service.
• GPS tracking inaccuracies.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
